Every website includes a free address like yourname.sites.needasite.co.uk. You can also have your own, such as yourname.co.uk.
Buying one with us
Search for a name on the plan and address page and pick one that is available. We register it in your name, point it at your website and add the security padlock — you don’t need to do anything.
Renewals
Domains are paid once a year. We email you 30, 14 and 3 days before it is due, with a button to renew in your panel under Billing. If it isn’t renewed, your site carries on at its free address but the domain stops working and someone else could register it.
Using a domain you already own
Choose “I already own a domain” at checkout. We email you two settings to add where you bought it:
- An A record for @ pointing to our server address (in the email).
- A CNAME record for www pointing to your domain.
We check every few minutes and email you when it is live with the padlock.
Moving it away
The domain is yours. Ask us for the transfer code (or, for .uk, to change the tag) and you can move it to another provider at any time.
